24 Sep 14 - Certificates of Appreciation for Soldiers Out-processing

Question:  Soldiers clearing with OER/NCOER/Awards is a good idea but a lot of Soldiers are getting short changed by unit giving them a COA so they can clear.  Out-processing is also getting harassed about this issue.

Answer:  GCSM:  Yes according to the 3ID Directive 2014-01 Out-processing Guidance, Soldiers will not depart the 3d ID without an evaluation and an award (if recommended).  Please get me the information as to which units are short changing their Soldiers.  I will then discuss the issue with the specific unit CSMs.
